OCTOBER'S SATURDAY FLU CLINICS WERE A GREAT SUCCESS

The 2 Influenza vaccine Saturday clinics we had in October were very well received.  It took a lot of planning and extra time by the office staff to run smoothly.  This was the first time in 35 years that we had Saturday "vaccination only" office hours.  We were able to give 89 vaccinations on the first Saturday and 91 vaccinations on October 24th in only two hours each day.  Thank you to our patients for showing up to get vaccinated against the seasonal flu, maintaining social distance and wearing face coverings.  Thank you to the office staff for giving of their time on the weekend to assure that our patients stay protected.    

In addition to Covid-19 worries, we have been having a difficult time obtaining our seasonal influenza vaccine.  All of the vaccine manufacturers are very busy preparing for a Covid vaccine, thus the manufacturing and shipping of influenza vaccine is suffering.  We preorder over 1,000 doses of seasonal influenza vaccine in February-March for Fall shipping.  As of today we have only received 1/4 of our usual shipment.   FLU SEASON IS APPROACHING.  Vaccination is the best prevention and treatment.  We will have another Saturday vaccination office hours on December 5th, so please be watching our blog and your text messages for an announcement.
